Biography
Olu Jegede, MD, serves as vice president of Clinical Care-Health Equity for Cone Health. He is responsible for prioritizing and developing ways to address disparities in health care and outcomes for the community. Reporting to the chief clinical officer, Dr. Jegede partners with key leaders in the Center for Health Equity and the Cone Health chief medical officer to develop strategies and tactics as differences in care and outcomes are identified. In addition, he develops clinical care while keeping a focus on quality of care delivered, promoting cost effective and appropriate care and positive patient experiences.
Dr. Jegede is a Certified Physician Executive. He obtained his master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Managing Health Care Delivery Certificate from Harvard Business School. Dr. Jegede is a fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP), fellow of American Association for Physician Leadership (FAAPL), and fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Dr. Jegede was recently appointed to the North Carolina Council on Sickle Cell Syndrome by Governor Roy Cooper and to the Minority Health Advisory Council by the North Carolina Senate Preside Pro Tempore.
