Board certified in neurology, clinical neuropathy and sleep medicine, Richard A. Sater, MD, Ph.D., is the director of the Multiple Sclerosis Center at Guilford Neurologic Associates.

Known for actively engaging his patients in the decision-making process, he provides comprehensive care and the latest treatments for patients with multiple sclerosis and other complex neurologic disorders.

Dr. Sater has authored more than 20 articles or chapters regarding immunology, multiple sclerosis and other aspects of neurology. He is a former member of the Healthcare Advisory Board of the National MS Society Carolinas chapter.

I have over a decade relationship with my Doctor and he knows where we left off at my last visit. We communicate quite well with each other and he focuses on anything new that I bring up, then he asks questions and provides his opinions as how to resolve my concerns.

Dr. Sater has always been an excellent doctor caring for me as a patient! He discusses any concerns and explains in detail, even sharing any test results I've had concerning my illness, to plan my best steps to move forward in my journey for multiple sclerosis. I totally trust his great expertise in this field and truly appreciate his caring demeanor.

We never feel rushed and never are made to feel questions are inappropriate. Provider listens intensely to patients comments while constantly observing facial expressions and movements.Patient is comfortable expressing himself with Dr Sater.

Dr. Sater was fabulous and explained everything very clearly and answered all our questions. He is without a doubt the kindest neurologist I've ever encountered. He didn't talk down to us and taught me things that I never knew about my condition.

Dr. Sater was very thorough and meticulous when it came to asking questions and figuring out the best course of action. He did not rush us and answered all of our questions. We had an outstanding visit with him!

Dr Sater had reviewed my recordx, prior MRI results and was familiar with my medical history. He answered all my questions,and made recommendations in regard to medication. He was so assuring and cared for me. I felt validated and cared for!

Dr. Sater is exceptional sharing explanations about my MS, discussed current progress & educated me on what to expect if relapses related to future treatments possible. He throughly describes my response to Mavenclad encouraging me to notify him of any new symptoms/needs. He listens & has a caring compassionate manner toward his patients! I pray he is always able to practice in the best interest of MS patients, his knowledge is outstanding!
