Biography
Samuel G. McDowell, MD, FACC, has practiced cardiology in Rockingham County and surrounding areas since 2002. With Cone Health Medical Group (CHMG) HeartCare and its predecessors, he has served in various cardiology group leadership roles over the years, including the cardiology executive and operations committees
Board certified in cardiovascular disease and echocardiography, he provides consultative diagnostic cardiology services and a broad spectrum of ongoing cardiovascular disease management. In addition to expertise in echocardiography, he also provides non-invasive nuclear myocardial stress imaging and diagnostic cardiac rhythm monitoring.
Married with a daughter, he enjoys traveling to learn about the world with his family. A classically trained musician, he enjoys playing the piano. An avid runner, he has completed two marathons and several half marathons over the years.
