Biography
Stephen Luke Van Ausdall, PharmD, BCACP, CPP, is an embedded ambulatory care pharmacist who works closely with care teams to optimize medication management and improve population health outcomes. With a focus on helping patients better understand and manage long-term heart and vascular health through evidence-based care, his professional interests include hypertension, diabetes management and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk
Committed to advancing health equity and improving access to affordable, effective therapies, he collaborates with outpatient pharmacy services to deliver cost-conscious, evidence-based medication strategies.
By combining adaptability with a relatable, patient-centered approach, he builds trusting relationships that support open communication, medication access and improved health outcomes. While respecting patients’ goals and preferences, he ensures they understand their conditions and feel confident in their care plan.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, reading, discovering new restaurants and following sports, especially the Carolina Panthers and Duke Blue Devils.
