Biography
Tamer Yalcinkaya, MD, a reproductive endocrinology-infertility expert, is president and founder of the Carolinas Fertility Institute with locations in Greensboro, Winston-Salem and Charlotte.
For more than two decades, he has contributed to the endocrinology-infertility training of medical students and OB/GYN residents at West Virginia University and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He has 27 publications in peer-reviewed journals and many abstracts and presentations, including as part of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine annual meeting.
Regionally, he is known as the expert in fertility-preserving surgery. His passion is to increase pregnancy success rates in his most challenging infertility patients. He has been featured on the local news many times, including on Fox 8 on such topics as fertility solutions and fertility myths.
He and his wife, Heather Mertz, MD, who specializes in maternal and fetal medicine, have four school-aged children. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, skiing and windsurfing with his family.
