Dr. Vinay Gudena is a medical oncologist at Cone Health Cancer Center, specializing in breast cancer care and leading the system’s cancer research program. He serves as principal investigator for numerous clinical trials, helping bring advanced therapies to patients across the region. His dedication to research earned him national recognition through the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Leadership Development Academy, where he contributes to shaping the future of oncology.
Before joining Cone Health, Dr. Gudena practiced in Ohio, where he helped launch the Firelands breast program and served as interim medical director of oncology in Sandusky. He was also honored as master faculty for excellence in teaching. Outside of medicine, he enjoys hiking—including a recent trek to Everest Base Camp—and spending time with his wife and two daughters. “Hiking to Everest Base Camp was transformational,” he says, reflecting his drive for personal and professional growth.
