Biography
Whitney Haddix, MD, is a hospitalist* board certified in pediatrics. She is a faculty member of the Cone Health Pediatric Teaching Service. Her professional interests include patient advocacy, social determinants of health and health disparities.
She strives to be a calming presence for families during what is often a very stressful time, having a child hospitalized with an acute illness. Collaborative, supportive and informative, she understands each patient and family circumstance is unique and believes parents are the experts on their children. She begins by listening to a child and their caregiver's story, addressing their concerns and ensuring they feel well-informed about the care plan.
In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with community organizations, spending time with family and friends and journaling.
“I value my role as an advocate for children and their best interests. My goal is not only to lend my voice to support the children in my community, but to also teach our trainees how to use their voice and how important it is to do so.” – Whitney Haddix, MD
