Charitable Giving CancerEach year, the advanced cancer treatment provided by the medical specialists at the Cone Health Cancer Center saves lives and restores health to thousands in our community.

In addition, quality of life counseling, peer-to-peer support and financial assistance is making a difference in each patient’s ability to cope with the cancer journey.

Your gifts make these extra services possible.

Cancer Support in Guilford County

Alight Fund for Breast Cancer Patients

Gifts to this fund are used to provide educational, emotional and financial support. From diagnosis through treatment, educational materials are provided through the Alight Program. Emotional support is offered through a one-on-one peer mentoring program and patient retreats. Emergency Assistance is offered for patients who are struggling financially as a result of a breast cancer diagnosis. By assisting with transportation, medication, food or utility costs patients are able to focus on their healing vs. additional financial burdens resulting from illness.

Alight Program Endowment /Gorrell-Jones Family Endowment Fund

Established in 2017, this is a permanent fund, created to help position the Alight Program for long-term sustainability and growth. A gift to this fund will help women now and well into the future! Income produced by the fund helps cover the costs of administering this unique support program for women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Patient Support Fund (Emergency Assistance and Healing Arts)

Mind, body and spirit are all areas of focus during the process of treatment and healing. Support offered cancer patients at the Cone Health Cancer Center is holistic. Gifts for Patient Support enable us to maintain a Healing Arts program. Your gifts allow us to partner with Hirsch Wellness and others to offer an array of supportive programming at the Cone Health Cancer Center.

Based on available funds, Emergency Assistance is provided for patients who are struggling financially as a result of any cancer diagnosis other that breast cancer (See Alight Fund). By assisting with transportation, medication, food or utility costs, patients are able to focus on their healing vs. additional financial burdens resulting from illness. In most cases, we are assisting families well below the Federal Poverty Level Guidelines
