Michelle Schneider, Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer
Michelle Schneider is vice president and chief philanthropy officer for Cone Health.
Schneider joined the Office of Institutional Advancement in 2017 as senior philanthropy officer. She became chief philanthropy officer in 2019.
Schneider earned a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG).
Schneider serves on the board of The Enrichment Fund for Guilford County Schools and is a member of the UNCG Alumni Leadership Board, the School of Health and Human Services Board of Visitors and a member of Women to Women.
Alamance County (Alamance Regional Charitable Foundation)
Katie Boon, Director, System-wide Philanthropy and Alamance Regional Charitable Foundation
Katie started as the Director of the Alamance Regional Charitable Foundation in 2013. In her time as Director, she has helped to assist the patients at Alamance Regional Medical Center that are battling illness or tragic circumstances and may be struggling financially.
Prior to coming into her role as Director, Katie served as the Director of Resource Development at United Way of Alamance County. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University.
Katie enjoys connecting people and their passions to help those in need of assistance at Alamance Regional Medical Center through donating their time, service and funding.
Jordan Wood, Program Manager
Jordan has been with the Alamance Regional Charitable Foundation since 2017. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in public relations and minors in Spanish and business at Peace College in Raleigh, NC.
Jordan serves the foundation in marketing and event planning, and manages the donor database.
Cindy Skinner, Foundation Associate
Cindy graduated from St. Mary’s Junior College in Raleigh, NC and Elon University with a degree in History and minor in Communications.
She worked for 25 years in customer support and sales at SAS Institute in Cary, NC. Cindy was drawn to healthcare philanthropy after 9 years of working full time and caring for sick parents and supporting friend’s sick parents in the community.
Guilford County (Office of Institutional Advancement)
Ruth Heyd, Philanthropy Officer, Heart Care Services
Ruth Darling Heyd is a North Carolina native from Charlotte that landed in Greensboro at UNC-Greensboro studying piano performance. She loves music, cooking, art and wellness. She currently is a member of the Institutional Advancement Team at Cone Health as a Philanthropy Officer focused on the Heart & Vascular Center.
Her career paths have led her to running a kitchen at Lucky 32 in the mid 90’s, the Greensboro Montessori School as their Development and Marketing Director, Corporate Management and Event Planning for the O.Henry and Proximity Hotel and raising funds for the American Heart Association as their Executive Director over the greater Triad region. She’s passionate about fundraising and creating connections in the greater Greensboro community.
Her passion around wellness and heart health makes her very excited about her current role at Cone Health. She is also a board member Weatherspoon Art Museum at UNC-Greensboro.
Tricia Teter, Philanthropy Officer, Women's & Children's Services
Directly supporting pediatric and OB/GYN care, Tricia focuses on the Women’s & Children’s Fund, NICU, Pediatric Complex Care Program, The Tim and Carolynn Rice Center for Child and Adolescent Health and many other Cone Health priorities.
Prior to joining Cone Health, Tricia was a member of University Advancement at Elon University. She is a proud double graduate of Elon University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in strategic communications and a master's degree in business administration.
Tricia serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Greater Greensboro and is a member of the teaching team at Dancing Dogs Yoga Greensboro. She is passionate about travel, wellness, relationships and the power of philanthropy.
Paul Crellin, Senior Manager, Donor Development
Paul leads the operational side of Institutional Advancement that includes data management and reporting, gift processing and stewardship, prospect research, grant writing and communications.
Paul joined Cone Health in 2006 following service to the Country Doctor Museum, the East Carolina University (ECU) Medical and Health Sciences Foundation, ECU University Advancement and Elon University Advancement. He has a bachelor's degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in public administration from ECU.
Amy C. Postel, Engagement and Annual Giving Officer
Amy has been with Cone Health since 2007 in various departments within the health system including Wesley Long Surgery Center and Volunteer Services.
She graduated from Elon University with a bachelor’s degree in Human Services and serves on the board of Carolina Adoption Services.
Tammy Dove, Gift Processor
Tammy Dove has worked for Cone Health since 1997. She is a 1992 North Carolina A & T State University Magna Cum Laude graduate with a B.S. degree in Accounting. Tammy worked in Professional Fee Billing from 1997 to 2012 serving in the roles of Medical Claims Follow Up Representative, Team Leader and Supervisor. Tammy has also held roles as an Accountant and a Clinic Registrar within Cone Health.
When she is not working at Cone Health, Tammy spends her time caring for family and volunteering in the community. Tammy has been a caregiver to her comatose aunt, who was also a community activist since 2008. Dove has been serving on the board of the Sherri Denese Jackson Foundation for the Prevention of Domestic Violence since May 2019 in the capacity of Treasurer.
RK Spearman, Prospect Research & Database Coordinator
RK joined Cone Health in 2020 as the Prospect Research & Database Coordinator. She considers herself a life-long learner, having matriculated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS and an MS in Accounting, East Carolina University with an MBA, and Northcentral University with a post-baccalaureate degree in Training and Development. From front-line fundraising to call center management, her passions for philanthropy and training have inspired her career and led her to Cone Health!
She is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and Temple Memorial Baptist Church where she sings on the Praise Team and teaches the upper elementary class during Children’s Church. She most enjoys spending time with her family and her godchildren and playing with her two labs, Marley Ray Cyrus and Sophi Anna.
Jennifer Shoffner, Marketing Manager
Jennifer joined Cone Health in 2017 as the Alight Program Coordinator when the Alight Foundation officially integrated as a program offered at the Cone Health Cancer Center. She recently transitioned to the Philanthropy Marketing Manager in October 2020.
Her earlier work includes marketing and advertising for QBE The Americas and United Guaranty here in Greensboro, NC. Jennifer graduated from UNC Charlotte with a bachelor's degree in English and minor in communications. She and her husband, David, have two beautiful girls and a Boykin Spaniel named Gunner.
Michelle Morgan, Senior Executive Assistant
Michelle has been with Cone Health since 2004 in various roles within the health system including support of Women’s Hospital Facilities Management and coordination of Volunteer Services.
Originally from Massachusetts, she attended Massasoit Community College where she earned her associates degree in office administration – legal concentration then a few years later attended Bridgewater State College (now Bridgewater State University) to earn a bachelor's degree in physical education, exercise science/health fitness with a minor in Business.
Rockingham County (Annie Penn Foundation)
Stokes Ann Hunt, MHA, RN, CPHQ, Director, Annie Penn Hospital Foundation
Stokes Ann joined the Annie Penn Hospital Foundation Board of Directors in 2006 and was Board Chair from 2009-2010. She joined Cone Health/Annie Penn Hospital as Director of the Annie Penn Hospital Foundation in 2011. Stokes Ann works closely with the board of directors to manage the operational, strategic and financial planning of all foundation activities.
Stokes Ann is a Registered Nurse with a master’s degree in health administration and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
Taylor Lake, Foundation and Community Care Program Manager
Taylor joined the Annie Penn Hospital Foundation in 2018.
She earned her bachelor's in Communication Studies with a concentration in Health Communications and a minor in Sociology from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
She serves the foundation in event planning, marketing, community outreach, and manages the donor database.
