Application Process

Program Eligibility

The 2019-2021 Cone Health Administrative Fellowship is open to individuals with an MHA, MBA, MPH, MSN, or equivalent graduate degree from a U.S. accredited program (AACSB, AUPHA, CAHME, CEPH, etc.). For applicants who must complete a fellowship to fulfill a graduation requirement as part of an accredited graduate program, coursework must be completed by May 2019. Previous healthcare experience is highly preferred.

The ideal candidate for the Administrative Fellowship is a highly motivated, self-starter who demonstrates excellent communication and presentation skills, exceptional performance in graduate coursework, and a willingness to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the Fellowship program.

Application Requirements

As a member of the National Council on Administrative Fellowships (NCAF), Cone Health participates in the National Administrative Fellowship Centralized Application Service (NAFCAS). NAFCAS is a simplified and streamlined application process for candidates interested in applying to administrative fellowships. Applications are open to application on June 12, 2018. Cone Health will accept applications through NAFCAS and email.

Interested applicants should submit the following application materials through NAFCAS, or email the following materials in one single PDF file to Administrative.Fellowship@conehealth.com by October 1, 2018:

Required Documents:

  1. Current Resume 
  2. Official Graduate School Transcript
  3. Personal Statement of Interest (maximum of two pages, double-spaced)
  4. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (to be requested in the "Supporting Documents" quadrant): (1) ACADEMIC, (1) PROFESSIONAL, and (1) OTHER (academic, professional, or letter from your program director) 
  5. One essay, maximum 500 words  (View essay question)

Each PDF file should contain the materials listed in the order specified above. Please use the subject line “Last Name, First Name – Administrative Fellowship Application”.

All letters of recommendation should be addressed to the Administrative Fellowship Selection Committee. If your recommender prefers to contact the program directly, please have your recommender email a PDF version of his/her letter to Administrative.Fellowship@conehealth.com with the subject line "Last Name of Applicant, First Name of Applicant: Recommendation Letter for Cone Health Administrative Fellowship".

Applicants will be notified when applications are received. Only complete and punctual applications will be considered.

Selection Process

The Administrative Fellowship Selection Committee will review all applications and evaluate applicants on academic performance, professional and personal experiences, personal statement, and letters of recommendation. Once phone interviews have been completed, finalists will be invited for interviews with executive leadership on-site in Greensboro, NC.

Overnight accommodations and all other travel expenses for in-person interviews will be provided by Cone Health.
