Salary Information
PGY 1  $51,329
PGY 2  $52,873
PGY 3  $54,460
PGY 4  $57,389 (Fellowship)

Each resident is allowed 15 work days (Monday through Friday) of paid vacation during PGY-1, PGY-2, PGY-3 and PGY-4. Holiday scheduling is handled within the individual programs. 

Medical Leave
Fifteen work days of medical leave are allotted to each resident at the beginning of each training year.


Health Insurance
Health Insurance is provided for each resident and family based on Cone Health benefit policies. 

Professional Liability Insurance
Professional Liability coverage (including tail coverage) is provided by Cone Health for all residents in pursuit of their duties associated with the curriculum of the training program.

Travel and CME
Each resident will be allowed up to five working days leave annually to attend one national medical educational conference or seminar. Residents are allowed a reimbursement of up to $1,000 annually for learning materials or conference attendance. 

Each resident (through PGY 3) will receive a technology stipend. Each resident will be assigned a text pager. 

Moving Expenses
Residents moving to Greensboro to begin training will be reimbursed for actual moving expenses up to $750.

Training License
The cost of the training license (RTL) will be reimbursed. 

Child Care
The Children's Corner is conveniently located onsite for children of hospital employees. 

A meal allowance is provided to residents on call. Employees receive a discount in the cafeteria. Lunches are sometimes provided during noon conferences based on the individual program's schedule.

Free parking for residents is provided in the physician parking lot.

Several electronic resources are available through the Cone Health Medical Library. Residents have free photocopying privileges. 

Call Rooms
The call rooms are private rooms with a computer, television and private bathroom. 

Other Benefits
Residents may receive discounts on charges for certain services provided by Cone Health.
