Dr. Andrew Lamb Becomes Vice President of Medical Affairs

Dr. Andrew S. Lamb has been named vice president of medical affairs for Alamance Regional Medical Center. Lamb will provide leadership, direction and planning for the medical staff. He will also work closely with medical staff leaders and senior administration to support quality and patient safety initiatives.

Lamb is a board certified internal medicine physician with Kernodle Clinic. He began practicing medicine in Burlington in 1992 after serving as a medical officer in the U.S. Army. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama. Lamb completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Georgia. He served five years as an internist at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky and was chief of medicine for the 86th Evacuation Hospital during Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia.

Lamb is a member of the Alamance Regional Medical Staff Executive Committee and Credentials Committee. He has served as chief of the medical staff of Alamance Regional Medical Center. Lamb serves as part-time medical director of the Elon University Department of Physician Assistant Studies program and is a preceptor for medical students and physician assistant and nurse practitioner students. Lamb has served as a team leader for 23 short-term medical mission trips throughout the world.
