Neurology and Stroke Care at Annie Penn Hospital

At Annie Penn, we use first-rate technology to bring neurology expertise and services to our patients in emergency situations. Though we don’t offer scheduled neurology intervention at Annie Penn, we’re entirely capable of responding to emergent neurological issues thanks to both teleneurology services as well as local physician resources.

Through our teleneurology service, neurology-trained doctors can quickly respond, assess and recommend treatment for patients experiencing emergency neurological issues. These providers respond via video within seconds and provide helpful guidance to ensure patients receive fast and effective treatment. This means we’re able to offer top-notch emergency neurological care 24/7.

Annie Penn is proud to have been the first hospital in North Carolina to receive the Acute Stroke Ready Hospital Certification from The Joint Commission. This certification recognizes Annie Penn as a designated destination for patients experiencing stroke symptoms locally.

For patients who need additional stroke treatment, we work closely with the team at Moses Cone Hospital to get those patients transferred in a timely manner. We stay in close contact with our Cone Health counterparts to ensure we’re bringing the best in neurology care to our patients in need.
