Have you wondered what are the best foods to eat for a healthy heart? And how should you prepare these foods for good heart heath? This series of 4 classes will answer your questions and allow you to cook and taste heart healthy foods.
These classes are held at the MedCenter Greensboro at Drawbridge Parkway. Enter through the main doors. When you enter walk straight ahead. Walk past the Grab and Go Cafe'. The Teaching Kitchen is the next set of double glass doors on your left.
This 4 week series of classes will show you how to modify your favorite recipes to make them more heart healthy, and introduce new foods and ways to prepare them. Each week we will focus on a different theme.
Week 1-September 30: Remake your recipe. Lighten up on saturated fats, sodium, and sugar. We will prepare Chicken and Broccoli Brown Rice Bowl.
Week 2- October 7: Adding omega 3's to your diet. We will prepare Honey Mustard Pecan Crusted Salmon.
Week 3- October 14: Packing protein in your salad. Pan grilled chicken salad with roasted asparagus, quinoa and avocado.
Week 4- October 21: Plant based meals. Black bean street tacos with southwest chickpea salad.
