Wallington to lead Health System Marketing Department

Chuck Wallington has been named Vice President of Marketing for Moses Cone Health System. Wallington comes to the System from American Express, where he was vice president, public affairs and communications.

“Chuck’s leadership style and passion for excellence stood out among a very impressive group of candidates,” says Noel Burt, Executive Vice President, Administrative Services, Moses Cone Health System. “He brings 25 years of experience as a communications and philanthropy professional with American Express and with RJR Nabisco in Winston-Salem.”

It's an outstanding organization with a great story to tell,” Wallington says. “I look forward to ensuring that our employees, our partners in healthcare and the broader community are aware of all that we do at Moses Cone Health System.”

During the course of his career, Wallington has led teams focusing on employee communications, internal marketing, media relations, employee volunteer initiatives and philanthropic programs. A longtime Triad resident, he is active in the community, including serving as a member of the Winston-Salem State University Board of Trustees. Previously, he was board chairman for the United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro and has led fundraising efforts for Bennett College for Women. Wallington also is active in a number of civic organizations, including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity.

Wallington earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began his career as a journalist, writing for newspapers in Greensboro, Detroit and Dallas.
