Cone Health Sleep Disorders Center Receives Two Accreditations

Cone Health Sleep Disorders Center, on the campus of Wesley Long Hospital, has been newly accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) for Out of Center Sleep Testing.

“The idea of being able to get a sleep study in the comfort of your own home is very appealing. But the study is only as good as the people and processes behind it,” says Jeannie Wilson, Director, Cone Health Sleep Disorders Center. “Earning this accreditation gives consumers the confidence that we care as much about the quality of our at-home sleep tests as we do about the tests conducted at our Center.”

Eligible patients are able to take home a portable device that records the essential information needed to diagnose common sleep disorders.

The “Out of Center Sleep Testing” accreditation was created in 2011 by the AASM to help consumers recognize centers meeting its rigorous standards.

The Cone Health Sleep Disorders Center also received overall reaccreditation for five years. To earn an accreditation, sleep medicine providers must display and maintain proficiency in testing procedures and policies, patient safety and follow-up, and physician and staff training.
