Annie Penn Hospital Recognized For National Leadership in Employee Engagement

Annie Penn Hospital has been named a 2013 Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey Associates, Inc. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing facilities that consistently achieve the 95th percentile of performance in employee engagement. For the past three years, Annie Penn Hospital has seen its employee engagement score climb from the 95th percentile in 2011 to 99th percentile in 2012 and 2013.2013 Guardian Award

“Employee engagement has always been one of my highest priorities,” says Annie Penn Hospital President and Executive Vice President for Cone Health Hospital Operations Mickey Foster. “Positive outcomes and superior patient satisfaction are directly linked to high employee satisfaction.”

Foster credits an active employee council, a highly visible administrative team that empowers employees and employees willing to live the Cone Health value of “Caring for Each Other” for the work environment at the hospital.

The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a health care industry symbol of achievement. Fewer than 5 percent of Press Ganey clients reach this threshold and consistently maintain it for the one-year reporting period. Press Ganey partners with more than 10,000 healthcare facilities, including more than half of all U.S. hospitals, to measure and improve the patient experience.

"We are proud to partner with Annie Penn Hospital,” says Press Ganey CEO Patrick T. Ryan. “Achieving this level of excellence reflects the organization’s commitment to delivering outstanding service and quality. Annie Penn Hospital’s efforts benefit patients in Rockingham County and will lead to improved patient experiences."
