Boss Named Trauma Program Manager

Kathleen Boss is the new trauma program manager for Cone Health. Boss will lead the 16-member trauma team. The trauma program, which cared for more than 700 people in fiscal year 2012, treats those who are severely injured in accidents or violent acts, and is based at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

Boss joined Cone Health in 2004 as an endoscopy technician. She most recently served as assistant director of the surgical intensive care unit at Moses Cone Hospital. Under her leadership, patient satisfaction scores were greater than 90 percent, and employee engagement scores were above national benchmarks.

Boss graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, earning a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in health administration from Pfeiffer University.

The trauma center at Moses Cone Hospital was recently recertified as a Level II Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons.
