MedCenters Add Primary Care Providers

Cone Health MedCenter High Point and Cone Health MedCenter Kernersville have added primary care providers.

Dr. Robyn Zanard comes to MedCenter High Point after more than eight years at High Point Primary Care. She is board certified in family medicine.

Dr. Robyn ZanardZanard received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after completing an undergraduate degree in psychology and history at Duke University, and a graduate degree in biology and chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She completed her residency through the Cone Health Family Medicine Residency Program. Zanard has professional interests in type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity and attention deficit disorder.

Cone Health Primary Care at MedCenter Kernersville has added Drs. Thomas Thekkekandam and Sean B. Hommel, and physician assistant Jade Breeback. 

Thekkekandam graduated with highest honors from Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies. He earned his undergraduate degree in Dr. Thomas Thekkekandambiochemistry at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Thekkekandam completed his residency in family medicine at Cone Health and a sports medicine fellowship through the Cone Health Sports Medicine Center. His professional interests include non-surgical adult and pediatric orthopedics and sports medicine, orthotics and gait analysis, and concussion management. Thekkekandam will practice both family medicine and sports medicine.

Hommel graduated from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Va., after receiving his undergraduate degree in Dr. Sean Hommelchemical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He completed his residency at Wake Forest Family and Community Medicine in Winston-Salem.

A member of the North Carolina and American Academies of Family Physicians, Hommel has professional interests in preventive medicine, women’s health, pediatrics and rural medicine.

Jade Breeback is a certified physician assistant. She graduated from Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga., with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She completed her medical training at Wake Forest University.
