Cone Health Named BOLD Leader

Cone Health has been named one of the top 10 “Best Organizations for Leadership Development” (BOLD) by The National Center for Healthcare Leadership.

The National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL) identifies healthcare organizations that use proven leadership development practices to achieve excellence and improve the quality of healthcare in their communities.

“This award highlights the skills of our organizational development team and Joan Evansthe collective work of our leaders to train, mentor and coach other leaders,” says Cone Health Executive Vice President, Innovation and Transformation Joan Evans. “This award signified the investment Cone Health has made in developing its people over the past decade.”

BOLD is NCHL’s platform to recognize organizations that are leading the field in preparing current and future generations who are transforming the nation’s health system.

“BOLD honors health systems for their leadership development work, which importantly, will be available to organizations throughout the country to give them tools to assess the effectiveness of their approach to preparing current and future leaders as a critical factor in achieving organizational excellence,” says NCHL Chief Executive Officer Andrew N. Garman. “We congratulate those BOLD organizations for their innovation and commitment to leadership development and hope to see their examples benefit other health systems.”

“Cone Health has a big commitment to providing good leadership across the system,” says Cone Health Executive Vice President, Administrative Services Noel Burt, PhD “We will continue selecting, developing and retaining the effective leaders that will allow our staff to continue providing the best care possible for our patients.”

The other top 10 leadership organizations are: Banner Health (Phoenix); Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland); Duke Regional Hospital, (Durham); Henry Ford Health System (Detroit); Mountain States Health Alliance (Johnson City, Tennessee); North Shore-LIJ Health System (Great Neck, New York); Presbyterian Healthcare Services (Albuquerque); Sutter Health (Sacramento) and UT Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas).

Cone Health will be recognized Nov. 20-21 at the inaugural BOLD luncheon in Chicago.
