Cone Health Names Physicians to Senior Leadership Team

Four physicians have been named to the Cone Health Leadership Council, which is the 43-member group responsible for leading the organization’s strategy and operations. The physicians are:

John Jenkins John Jenkins, MD, vice president and executive medical director, Primary Care Collaborative.
Bill Morgan, MD Bill Morgan, MD, vice president and executive medical director, Cone Health Medical Group.
Bruce Swords Bruce Swords, MD, vice president and chief quality informatics officer, Cone Health.
Tom Wall, MD Tom Wall, MD, vice president and executive medical director, Triad HealthCare Network.

Cone Health Chief Executive Officer Tim Rice points out that while the physicians had leadership roles previously, “Their participation on our senior leadership team both recognizes their contributions and strengthens our partnership with physicians across Cone Health. They bring valuable perspectives as we work together to become a national leader in providing measurably superior healthcare.”

Jenkins, Morgan and Wall work with area medical practices to improve patient care by setting and measuring standards of care, and improving lines of communications between physician practices and with Cone Health hospitals, MedCenters and clinics. Their goal is to raise the quality of care and drive it to become more efficient.

As chief quality informatics officer, Swords works to improve the quality, versatility and connectivity of the various electronic medical record systems used by area physicians.

All four physicians are recent graduates of the first class of the Cone Health Physician Leadership Academy—a partnership with the Center for Creative Leadership to develop physician leaders.
