Oncologist Joins Cone Health Cancer Center
Vinay K. Gudena MD, MPH, has joined the Cone Health Cancer Center at Wesley Long Hospital as a medical oncologist. Gudena will specialize in treating breast cancer. With 814 cases in 2014, breast cancer is the most frequently treated cancer at Cone Health.
Gudena comes to Cone Health from Sandusky, Ohio, where he worked as a hematologist/oncologist at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center at Firelands Regional Medical Center. There Gudena established the Firelands Center for Breast Care.
Gudena earned his medical degree at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, A.P, India. He earned his Master of Public Health degree in occupational and environmental and aerospace medicine at the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston. Gudena served as chief resident at Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. He earned a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Gudena is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology.
