Cone Health Practice Earns Center of Excellence Designation for Heart Care

The cardiology practice of W. Spencer Tilley, MD, has received the Platinum Practice Center of Excellence designation from the American College of Cardiology’s PINNACLE Registry. The award recognizes the practice for delivering high-quality care and high performance in the treatment of patients who may have a higher risk of stroke. The award is based on measurements taken in the first quarter of 2015.

“This award illustrates the commitment Dr. Tilley and his team have in caring for his patients,” says Cone Health Heart and Vascular Center and Imaging Services Vice President Rich Lundy. “We want all of our patients to benefit from the latest developments in medicine, and working with organizations such as the American College of Cardiology and the PINNACLE Registry is one way we achieve that.”

The PINNACLE Registry has the patient records of 16 million people with coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, hypertension and heart failure. The information gleaned from the data is used to help providers bring the best care to their patients. Tilley has participated in research using PINNACLE data that has resulted in several publications.

Tilley practices cardiology medicine in a solo practice at 1002 N. Church St., Suite 202, Greensboro, NC. His practice is part of Cone Health Medical Group.
