Morgan Named Director for Infection Prevention

Health’s efforts to eliminate health care-associated infections. Cone Health is ranked in the top 10 percent of hospitals when it comes to patient safety in overall hospital, medical and surgical care. This is according to the 2016 quality awards from CareChex®, a division of Comparion.
Morgan has been with Cone Health since 2004. She joined the infection prevention team in 2010. Morgan recently led a team that dramatically improved Cone Health’s health care-associated infection rate, and its ability to predict and respond to infections when they occur.
Morgan holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Winston-Salem State University and a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, North Carolina. She will complete her online master’s degree in nursing administration leadership from Jacksonville University in April.
In 2015, Morgan was named Practitioner of the Year by the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology North Carolina. She was also a 2015 Cone Health Nursing Excellence award recipient.
