New Director of ACO Operations for Triad HealthCare Network has Deep Roots
Many people say they have spent most of their life in health care. Elissa Langley, the new director of Accountable Care Organization (ACO) operations for Triad HealthCare Network (THN), grew up in a health care family. As director of ACO operations, Langley will provide direction and support in the development and management of the accountable care organization’s daily operations.
Langley’s father, Murray Abrams, was a former chief of staff of the Cone Health Medical and Dental Staff and she worked in his surgical practice while in high school. While in college, Langley spent the summer working with Greensboro Pathology. In grad school, she worked a day a week at Women’s Hospital.
Langley intended to follow in her father’s footsteps as a physician. But after shadowing a couple of Moses Cone Hospital leaders, her thoughts turned to health care administration. Upon completing grad school, Langley moved to the Atlanta area where she worked for providers, health insurance companies and in health care consulting.
Langley returned to Cone Health as the first staff employee hired by THN in February 2012. She was hired as a project manager. Langley’s most recent role was that of manager of payor relations and contracting. Langley earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology and a master’s degree in health care administration from Duke University. She is a member of the Guilford Medical and Dental Managers organization.
