credentialed as CPE in the Greensboro area and 83 in North Carolina. The CCMM lists only about 2,400 physicians with this prestigious credential in the United States.
“Meeting the needs of our patients today, partnering with them in their care and coordinating with multiple providers requires a different type of physician leader,” says Cone Health Medical Group President and Chief Medical Officer Bill Morgan, MD. “Dr. Jegede brings the broader vision required to help our patients become well and stay well.”
Jegede serves as lead physician and medical director of Cone Health Community Health and Wellness Center. Under Jegede’s leadership, the center has grown to include four full-time providers and 31 staff. The facility treats 4,000 patients.
Jegede graduated from Ahmadu Bello University College of Human Medicine in Nigeria. He completed his residency at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Jegede holds a master’s degree in health care administration. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics
The CCMM is a not-for-profit corporation chartered by the American Association for Physician Leadership — the nation’s largest health care organization for physician leaders — to establish and maintain the high standards required for physician executive certification.
