Moses Cone Hospital Names Chief Nursing Officer
Ann Marie Madden joins Cone Health.
Ann Marie Madden, DNP, RN, has been named chief nursing officer and vice president for patient care services for The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. In this position, Madden is responsible for nursing operations and working with nurses and nursing support staff to provide the highest quality care.

Madden comes to Moses Cone Hospital from Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, Virginia, where she was chief nursing officer. At Inova, Madden provided clinical and administrative leadership for an 833-bed Level I trauma center, as well as children’s and women’s hospitals, and a heart and vascular institute.

Previously, Madden held several senior leadership positions at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., including assistant vice president of nursing operations and chief nurse executive for the MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute.
Madden has also worked as a bedside nurse and a supervisor for medical-surgical, intensive care, cardiac and emergency departments.
Madden earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in New York City, her master’s degree in nursing from Pace University, also in New York City, and her doctorate, magna cum laude, from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
