Nurses Honored at National Meeting of Emergency Nurses
Denise Rhew and Bryan Gray were recognized by their peers for the work they do across Cone Health and in the emergency department at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Denise Rhew, PhD, RN, and Bryan Gray, RN, have been honored by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA).
Denise Rhew, PhD, RN
Rhew received the Clinical Nurse Specialist Award and Gray the Nursing Practice and Professionalism Award. The awards were recently presented at the organization’s national convention in St. Louis.
Rhew is directly involved in elevating the care of patients in Cone Health’s five emergency departments. She works with staff, ensuring that they are trained in and able to implement the latest scientifically proven techniques and treatments. Rhew is a 2017 Nurse of Distinction recipient.
Gray works in the emergency department of Alamance Regional Medical Center, where he is often charge nurse.
Bryan Gray, RN
Gray is a member of committees working to improve the quality of patient care. He is also involved in initiatives aimed at improving the health of the Alamance County community. Gray became a Great 100 Nurse last year.
The ENA awards recognize emergency nurses and exemplary supporters of the profession who demonstrate exceptional professional practice, innovation, leadership and advocacy.
Award recipients are selected by health care professionals who recognize colleagues as extraordinary practitioners who continually go above and beyond the call of duty in emergency nursing. The ENA Awards Committee reviewed each blinded submission.
