Lucas Becomes Top Nurse at Cone Health Behavioral Health Hospital


Benny L. Lucas, BSN, RN, has joined Cone Health Behavioral Health Hospital’s as chief nursing officer and vice president for patient care services.

In this role, Lucas helps set the guidelines and standards for nurses and nurse techs working at Cone Health Behavioral Health Hospital and the behavioral medicine unit at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Lucas comes to Cone Health from St. Joseph’s Behavioral Health Center in Stockton, California, where he served as chief nurse executive. Lucas is known for his work in quality care initiatives, employee engagement and improving psychiatric care. 

Lucas holds a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Excelsior College in Albany, New York. He is pursuing a doctorate degree in health care administration from the University of Phoenix.
