A New Space for Rest and Connection at Moses Cone Hospital
Redesigned atrium features new furniture with innovative fabrics donated by
Glen Raven, Inc., a new Panera Bread restaurant and a new gift shop.
Greensboro— The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital’s large, sunlit atrium has been redesigned to provide a more comfortable experience for patients, guests and employees. The project includes the 2018 opening of Magnolia Gift Shop, the July 2019 opening of a Panera Bread restaurant, new wall facades and flooring, and this weekend’s installation of new furniture and interior design amenities.

“With the atrium’s redesign, patients, guests and staff can enjoy a comfortable open space with natural light to dine, rest and connect,” said Preston Hammock, interim president at Moses Cone Hospital. “On behalf of our entire hospital team, I want to thank Glen Raven, Inc., for their support of this project. The donation of Glen Raven’s Sunbrella Contract fabrics for the atrium’s furniture enables us to provide a warm, welcoming and enduring environment of healing for our community.”
The atrium will connect the new Cone Health Women’s & Children’s Center, opening Feb. 23, to the rest of Moses Cone Hospital. Significant input from patients, guests and team members influenced the design of the new atrium space, as well as the hospital’s new kitchen and cafeteria, The cafeteria is scheduled to open in January to providing another enhancement of services for the hospital.
