Greensboro—Ben Patel has been promoted to executive vice president and chief information officer at Cone Health. He also joins the organization’s senior-most leadership team.
“This promotion is in recognition of Ben’s leadership, and the increasingly important and central strategic role played by information technology in our organization and in health care,” says Jeff Jones, executive vice president and chief financial officer for Cone Health. Patel will continue setting strategy for using information technology to improve access to care, drive value for patients and strengthen Cone Health’s focus on people and culture.
Patel joined Cone Health in 2018 as senior vice president and chief information officer. He is noted for his ability to think broadly and strategically. Patel has more than 20 years of progressively responsible experience in information technology in health care.
Patel earned his Master of Science degree in computer science from DePaul University and his Master of Business Administration from Pittsburgh State University. He is a sought-after speaker at national health care technology events.
Just this year, Patel was named to Becker’s list of "100 hospital and health system CIOs to know."
