Cone Health Ranks as Top Hospital in State
Cone Health ties with UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh on the Business North Carolina list.
Business North Carolina magazine puts Cone Health at the top of its North Carolina’s Best Hospitals list. The magazine compiles an annual ranking of 25 of the leading hospitals in the state. The ranking identifies organizations that, in its words, “… are most successful at their fundamental goal: providing quality care for patients.” Cone Health shares the top spot with UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh.
“With so many nationally known hospitals in our state, it is great knowing that some of the best care is here at Cone Health,” says Terry Akin, CEO, Cone Health. “We are very proud to bring this level of care to the communities we serve.”
The magazine combines data from a number of sources to come up with its listing. It looks at the number of health care-associated infections, readmission rates and death rates for common procedures. Business North Carolina also considers information from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, U.S. News & World Report and The Leapfrog Group.
Specialty hospitals such as Cone Health Behavioral Health Hospital and Women’s Hospital are not included in the rankings. The complete list is available here.
Business North Carolina considered Cone Health as Annie Penn Hospital, The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and Wesley Long Hospital in its rating.
