1,034 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 by Cone Health on the opening day of the joint vaccination clinic at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center. The Guilford County Division of Public Health (GCDPH) vaccinated an additional 1,039 people.

“It is very rare that you see people excited about getting a shot,” says DeAnne Brooks, chief pharmacy officer, Cone Health. “But it is very exciting to see this.” The entire process takes about an hour and 20 minutes.

The free COVID-19 vaccinations are being given to those 65 and over. They are in one of the highest risk groups for COVID-19.  People in that age group wanting a vaccination are asked to register for a waiting list. That can be done by going to conehealth.com/vaccine. People on the wait list will be notified when an appointment is available.

Vaccination Clinic To register with the GCDPH, Guilford County residents should visit healthguilford.com and click the “COVID-19 Vaccine Info” rectangle or call 336-641-7944 and select Option 2. You do not have to live in Guilford County to be vaccinated through Cone Health.

The joint vaccination clinic will operate daily and is by appointment only.

Cone Health plans to open COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Alamance and Rockingham counties soon.
