Cone Health Takes BOLD Steps for Leadership Development
The health system earns a BOLD award for developing leaders.
The National Center for Healthcare Leadership has recognized Cone Health as a Best Organization for Leadership Development (BOLD). Cone Health was recognized at a virtual event yesterday as part of the National Center for Healthcare Leadership’s Human Capital Investment Conference.
“If anything, 2020 shows us that every day has its own challenges. The organizations that succeed in times like these have leadership with the skills to adapt and thrive,” says Milagros Russell, director, People Development, Cone Health. “It is great to be recognized as a place that invests in leadership and the future of health care.”
Every two years, researchers benchmark health care organizations against the latest leadership science. Their efforts determine the organizations leading the field in 12 key areas that help prepare current and future generations of leaders. These organizations excel in these areas:
- Recruiting people with leadership potential
- Training and equipping new leaders
- Developing for diversity and inclusion
Cone Health has long been a leader in organizational development. Among many innovations is partnering with the Center for Creative Leadership to develop the Physician Leadership Academy. The academy serves as a pathway for physicians to develop leadership skills.
Cone Health is one of 10 organizations recognized as BOLD leaders at the virtual event.
