A Dozen Cone Health Practices Earn Top Marks for Operations
Not only do the practices provide exceptional care, the Medical Group Management Association says they are run well too.
Greensboro – A dozen Cone Health medical practices have been recognized by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) as “better performers” in 2020. This is because of superior operational performance compared with similar medical group practices nationwide.
MGMA compares practices in operations, profitability, productivity and value. These 12 practices excelled in one of more of those areas.

- Center for Women’s Healthcare

“At Cone Health, we believe exceptional personalized care and creating value is about more than the visit with the provider,” says Martin Portillo, MD, president & chief medical officer, Cone Health Medical Group, cancer center program; senior vice president, ambulatory & physician enterprise. “Patients deserve value and well-run practices deliver exceptional value.”
MGMA points out that better performers are systematic about improvement — investing time in the effort, resources, and in maximizing the tools and information available to them.
The practices will be recognized at a virtual, Medical Practice Excellence Conference starting Monday, October 19th.
