COVID-19 Testing Opportunity in Alamance County
COVID-19 testing in Haw River is Saturday, June 27.
COVID-19 testing will be available at The Village Marketplace, 1003 W. Main St., Haw River this Saturday, June 27. Testing will be available from 10 am to 1 pm while supplies last. This is a joint project with the Alamance County Health Department.
People who want to be tested do not need a doctor’s order, insurance or an appointment. Testing is free, though people are asked to bring an insurance card and a photo ID if they have them. People are also asked to wear a mask and to be aware of social distancing at the test site.
People at high risk of catching COVID-19 are urged to be tested. These include people:
Who have an unexplained cough, fever, sore throat or other COVID-19 symptoms
Who are over 65
Living in nursing homes, group homes, farm labor camps, homeless shelters
With jobs that make it hard to maintain social distancing (bus driver, store clerk, childcare worker)
Have recently attended a mass gathering such as a party, cookout, protest, sporting event, etc.
Testing will be done with a nasal swab. People will be told their results by phone in 72 hours. Positive tests will be reported to the health department. People who have questions about testing should call 336-890-3792.
