Cancer Survivors Show How They Thrive and Survive

Cone Health’s virtual photo booth opens for Cancer Survivor’s Day.

Area cancer survivors can show the world how life can be terrific even during and after a cancer diagnosis. National Cancer Survivors Day® is Sunday, June 6, but Cone Health is celebrating virtually with survivors all month. Two happy people in photo

Survivors are encouraged to go to Cone Health Cancer Survivors Day Virtual Photo Booth. The booth can be found at Survivors can post their photos using one of three inspirational frames. On June 9, a slideshow of the photos will be posted on Cone Health social media for everyone to enjoy. Survivors are also encouraged to post photos to their favorite social media outlets and use the hashtag #ConeHealth.

One of the highlights of the celebration will be a tribute video on June 14. The video will feature messages of support, encouragement and inspiration from cancer center staff and testimonials from local cancer survivors. It will post on Cone Health’s Facebook and YouTube channels

“This year, we are excited to develop new and creative ways to celebrate cancer survivorship with our community,” says Skip Hislop, vice president, oncology, Cone Health. “We are excited for the day when we can all gather to celebrate safely, but until then, we hope this month of virtual offerings lets cancer survivors know that Cone Health Cancer Centers are right here with them today and every day.”

Cone Health has five cancer centers in the Triad. The cancer center staff treated 2,633 people last year and 58 different types of cancer.
