Pfizer Vaccine Boosters Available for Ages 16 and 17

The boosters are available through Cone Health starting Monday, Dec. 13.

Greensboro – Cone Health will begin giving COVID-19 boosters to teenagers ages 16 and 17 beginning Monday. These will be available at Cone Health vaccination clinics listed at conehealth.com/vaccine.

The CDC recommends everyone receive COVID-19 boosters to improve vaccine protection from COVID-19. The government recently approved boosters to 16-and 17-year-olds with the Pfizer vaccine.

People may make an appointment for a booster if they received the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series at least 6 months ago. Boosters for the J&J vaccine are available two months after the initial shot. Again, 16- and 17-year-olds can receive only the Pfizer booster.

Appointments are required. To register for the free vaccination appointment, go to conehealth.com/vaccine or call 336-890-1188 (Mon-Fri 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
