Reidsville Recognizes Health Care Heroes
City council recognizes Cone Health employees for their pandemic work.
The Reidsville City Council recognized the 13,000 employees of Cone Health for their work during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Annie Penn Hospital President Cindy Farrand accepted the proclamation during a virtual council meeting last night. (Feb. 9)
Reidsville Mayor Jay Donecker read the proclamation recognizing Cone Health employees, in part, for their work to “… provide quality health care while facing their own fears associated with this dreadful disease that has taken so many from us.”
Farrand thanked the council and praised Cone Health employees for being adaptable, resilient, and for overcoming fears in the early days of the pandemic. “It’s not just our nursing staff, it’s the nursing techs, the housekeepers, I could go on and on,” says Farrand. “What helps keep us going is the outpouring of support from our community. This proclamation goes a long way.”
Mayor Pro Tem Harry Brown thanked Annie Penn Hospital employees for what they do adding, “We are here for them.”
