Cone Health Creates Senior Vice President Role Focused on Partnerships

Preston Hammock will lead key strategic business and partnership opportunities.

 

Greensboro- Preston Hammock has been named senior vice president of business and partnership development at Cone Health. Hammock will work with businesses and community organizations to bring better health to all the communities Cone Health serves. 

This new role emphases the importance Cone Health places on partnerships to bring better health to more people more quickly. These include: Preston Hammock

  • Working with organizations to address the non-medical areas that impact a person’s health, such as access to fresh food, safe places to exercise and strong support networks.
  • Seeking companies with unique products or that possess the scale and expertise that accelerate the impact of Cone Health by working together in formal partnerships.
  • Working with Triad area colleges and universities in non-traditional areas.

For the last three years, Hammock served as Cone Health’s senior vice president of the Greensboro market. An immediate nationwide search has begun for his successor. Angie Orth, chief of staff to the CEO, replaces Hammock in an interim capacity until a new leader is named.

Since joining Alamance Regional Medical Center in 2006, Hammock has served in various senior leadership roles, including the president of Alamance Regional and, following that, president of The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

Hammock holds a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Duke University. Hammock is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a past recipient of the group’s Regent Award.
