Cone Health Named Alamance Community College's Business Partner of the Year

Cone Health has been named Alamance Community College’s (ACC) 2025 Business Partner of the Year, a recognition that underscores our longstanding commitment to education, workforce development, and community growth.
The award was presented during ACC’s Annual Public Officials Breakfast on December 3 in Graham, N.C. Each year, ACC honors a business or organization that demonstrates exceptional dedication to the College’s mission and the success of its students. Cone Health was selected for its decades-long partnership that has created transformative opportunities for students and strengthened the region’s healthcare and economic landscape.
Cone Health’s collaboration with ACC spans more than three decades and includes initiatives that directly support student success and workforce readiness. Highlights of this partnership include:
- Leadership and Governance: Senior Cone Health leaders serve on both the ACC Board of Trustees and ACC Foundation Board.
- Program Support: Active participation on advisory committees for five curriculum programs.
- Workforce Development: Creation of student apprenticeships and hosting targeted recruiting fairs for programs such as Culinary Arts and Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Hands-On Learning: Providing more than ten work-based learning sites for ACC students.
- Career Pathways: Hiring thousands of ACC graduates over multiple decades.
- Philanthropy: Contributing more than $2 million in support of scholarships, program enhancements, and strategic initiatives, including two major endowments and significant investment in ACC’s Biotechnology Center of Excellence Campaign.
- Scholarship Support: Funding across seven curriculum and workforce development programs.
- Sustained Commitment: Annual giving for 36 consecutive years and previous recognition as ACC’s Business Partner of the Year in 2006.
