Cone Health Sponsors Gargoyles Hockey Team

The mascot makes appearance at Cone Health MedCenter Greensboro at Drawbridge Parkway.

Greensboro – The Greensboro Gargoyles hit the ice October 19 with Cone Health keeping them in the game as their exclusive health care partner. The team mascot made his first public appearance at Cone Health MedCenter Greensboro at Drawbridge Parkway. The Gargoyle met fans of all ages before touring the facility.

Over the course of the season the Gargoyles expect to draw 300,000 fans to games at the first Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro. The new team is part of an expansion of the East Coast Hockey League. Man holding son next to Gargoyle mascot

“This is a great opportunity to reach out of town fans and remind locals about the championship-caliber health care Cone Health delivers,” says Cone Health Chief Marketing & Communications Officer Chuck Wallington, PhD. “I remember when Greensboro was a hotbed for hockey with the Generals and the Monarchs. Cone Health is excited to play a role in bringing professional ice hockey back to Greensboro.”

The Gargoyles' mascot is yet unnamed. Fan voting will help the team come up with a name for the team's newest member.

As for today, he brought smiles and energy to patients, families and staff as part of the Gargoyle’s ongoing commitment to community engagement.
