Both hospitals have earned national recognition from the American College of Cardiology for consistently providing high-quality care to heart attack patients.

This recognition reflects years of work to ensure patients receive timely treatment backed by research and measured against national standards. It also shows that both hospitals continually track and improve the care they provide during one of the most critical moments in a person's life.
Alamance Regional Medical Center and Moses Cone Hospital received the American College of Cardiology's 2026 Chest Pain-MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award. The recognition marks the eighth consecutive year for Alamance Regional Medical Center and the 15th consecutive year for Moses Cone Hospital. The hospitals are among a select group nationwide to receive the award. 
"People don't plan for a heart attack," said Dr. Muhammad Arida, medical director of the cardiac catheterization labs at Alamance Regional Medical Center. "When one happens, patients and families need to know they can receive timely, high-quality care close to home. This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and our long-standing drive to deliver care that is backed by research, measured against national standards and focused on giving people the best chance for recovery."
Heart disease is one of North Carolina’s leading health challenges. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 800,000 Americans experience a heart attack each year. Hospitals receiving the Platinum Performance Achievement Award have demonstrated sustained success in meeting rigorous national standards for treating those patients.
The Chest Pain-MI Registry helps hospitals evaluate and improve care for patients with coronary artery disease and heart attacks by tracking performance against national benchmarks and treatment guidelines.
