Cone Health Among America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women

This is the second consecutive year that Cone Health made the prestigious list.

Greensboro – Cone Health has been named to the Newsweek list of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women 2026. The full list can be viewed on the Newsweek website

It recognizes 1,000 organizations across the U.S. that in the words of Newsweek, “are stepping up to foster environments where women can thrive.”   Newsweek Greatest Places to Work logo

Creating an appealing place for women to work is especially important to Cone Health. Women make up most workers in health care. 85% of all registered nurses are women. Women account for 44.5% of all physicians in the U.S. (up from 36.7% a decade ago).

The Newsweek recognition is an assessment of publicly accessible data, discussions and interviews with HR professionals and large-scale confidential online surveys conducted among women working for U.S.-based companies. Employers were judged on their management of a diverse workforce, sustainability and awareness, compensation and benefits, training and career progression, work-life balance, working environment, company image and corporate culture.

In 2025, Cone Health was named to two Newsweek lists, Greatest Workplaces for Women and Greatest Workplaces for Inclusion and Diversity.

“It’s truly an honor to be included on this list and recognized for our ongoing commitment to building a workplace where women feel supported, valued, and empowered. When we foster genuine belonging and create an environment where everyone can thrive, we strengthen our ability to deliver exceptional care to the patients and communities we serve,” said Michelle Adamolekun, executive vice president and chief people and culture officer at Cone Health.
