Greensboro – Consumers looking for high-quality healthcare close to home have more evidence that nationally recognized care is available at Cone Health. Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro and Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro received high-performing marks in 16 procedures and conditions. (Under U.S. News methodology, Annie Penn Hospital and Wesley Long Hospital are included within Moses Cone Hospital's rankings.)

Why it matters

Choosing a hospital can be one of the most important healthcare decisions someone  makes. U.S. News & World Report evaluates hospitals using measures such as patient results, nursing care, patient experience and other quality indicators.

For consumers, these ratings offer an independent assessment of where people are more likely to receive high-quality care for serious conditions and complex procedures.

What this means for patients

Fewer than half of the thousands of hospitals evaluated earned a 'High Performing' designation in the types of care evaluated by U.S. News.

High Performing ratings recognize care that was significantly better than the national average, as measured by factors such as patient outcomes. U.S. News & World Report is considered a global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice. Its annual Procedures & Conditions ratings are designed to help consumers and their doctors make informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

"People want confidence that they can receive exceptional care in their own community," said Cone Health CEO Dr. Paul Krakovitz. "These ratings help consumers identify hospitals that consistently deliver excellent care. They really speak to the expertise and dedication of our teams throughout Cone Health."
