Cone Health Names Chief Value-Based Care Officer 

Experienced leader to accelerate Cone Health’s transformation to value-based care.

Greensboro-- Ryan Christensen joins Cone Health as chief value-based care officer, a key executive leadership role responsible for advancing the system’s population health and value-based care strategy.

Christensen will lead efforts to strengthen clinical integration, improve health, enhance the patient experience and reduce the total cost of care across Cone Health’s service area. He will oversee population health operations and work with clinical, financial and technology leaders to expand value-based partnerships and drive performance across all payer segments. Ryan Christensen

Christensen joins Cone Health from Intermountain Health, where he served as enterprise vice president of operations for Proactive Care Services. In that role, he led enterprise-wide population health initiatives supporting more than 1 million covered lives and helped drive significant financial and operational improvements in Medicare Advantage and other risk-based programs. 

Previously, he held leadership roles in medical group operations, business development and hospital operations, with a focus on growth, integration and performance improvement.

Christensen earned a Master of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in physiology from Brigham Young University.
