Greensboro – Jamilla Pinder, Director of Community Engagement and Impact at the Cone Health Foundation, has been named an Outstanding Women in Business 2026 honoree by Triad Business Journal, recognizing her visionary leadership and lasting impact on community health, equity, and systems-level change across the Triad.  Jamilla Pinder

In her role at the Cone Health Foundation, Pinder leads efforts to integrate justice and equity into all foundation strategies, policies, and partnerships. Through deep community engagement, trusted relationships, and data-informed decision-making, she helps position the Foundation as a catalyst for improving health outcomes and reducing disparities—particularly in historically underserved communities throughout Greensboro and the surrounding region.

“Jamilla leads with purpose, humility, and an unwavering commitment to people,” said Michelle Adamolekun, executive vice president and chief people and culture officer. “Her ability to bring communities, partners, and systems together to drive meaningful change reflects the very best of Cone Health’s mission and values. This recognition is well deserved.”

Over more than two decades at Cone Health, Pinder has led transformative initiatives that expand access to care and address the social drivers of health. Her accomplishments include helping establish what is now the Cone Health Community Health and Wellness Center, launching innovative services such as transitional care clinics, medical food pantries, transportation access programs, and specialty care partnerships, and advancing community-based solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic across Guilford, Alamance, and Rockingham counties. Since joining the Foundation in 2022, she has played a key role in advancing trust-based philanthropy, including the launch of the Nurturing Equity grant initiative, which directed $500,000 to grassroots organizations working closest to community needs.

Beyond her professional role, Pinder is a deeply engaged civic leader, serving in key positions with organizations including The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market and the Greensboro Transit Advisory Commission. Across every space she serves, Pinder is known as a master uniter who bridges institutions and neighborhoods, empowering residents to co-create sustainable solutions and shape their own futures.

The Triad Business Journal Women in Business awards honor outstanding leaders who are driving innovation, influence, and positive change across the region. Pinder’s selection reflects her rare ability to pair strategic leadership with deep community proximity — strengthening both individual lives and the broader fabric of Greensboro.
