Elmsley Clinic Adds Evening Hours for Measles Vaccinations

Additional access aims to help families stay protected and up to date.

Greensboro – Cone Health Primary Care at Elmsley Square (3711 Elmsley Ct.) will expand evening hours beginning Wednesday March 4. The clinic will offer measles vaccination appointments from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays to make it easier for parents and caregivers to get their children vaccinated against measles. Appointments can be made at 336-890-2165. Walk-ins are also welcome.  Elmsley Clinic Exterior

Measles is one of the most contagious viruses, and children without vaccination remain at the highest risk of severe complications. The virus can linger in the air of an enclosed space for up to two hours after an infected person leaves. Even brief exposures can lead to infection. It can cause permanent brain damage and deafness in children.

Making it easier to get the measles vaccine is an important step in protecting children, preventing community spread and reducing the likelihood of outbreaks. The expanded hours at Cone Health Primary Care at Elmsley Square provide families with more scheduling options as 23 cases have been reported in North Carolina so far.

“Convenient access to vaccination is essential for protecting children and the broader community,” said Dr. Cynthia Snider, Cone Health Medical Director of Infection Prevention. “Parents now have more opportunities to get their children caught up on measles shots, which is especially important given how easily this virus spreads.”

Cone Health strongly encourages families to review their children's vaccination status and take advantage of the extended hours to stay current and protected. While the practice is family medicine, the extended hours are for pediatric vaccinations. For more information, please visit conehealth.com/vaccines
