Newborn Wears Mom’s First T-Shirt 38 Years Later

Baby Claire Rendleman Arnett came into the world in style on April 12, 2022.

Greensboro – What once was old is now new again for a newborn at the Cone Health Women’s & Children’s Center.

Baby Claire Rendleman Arnett was born Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 7:41 a.m. The brand-new bundle of joy weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces, and measured 21 inches long. Her parents, Hunter and Jesse, couldn’t be more excited to welcome their fourth child into the world.

But, what makes Claire’s story extra special is a connection that dates back to her mom’s own birth. Thirty-eight years ago, Hunter was born at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and received a commemorative shirt that read “Moses Cone Hospital: A Great Place To Start!” Years later, the shirt has reappeared.

Claire is the couple’s fourth child, but only the first to be born at Moses Cone Hospital. So, imagine Hunter’s excitement when she realized she’d get to pass on such a special piece of her past to her newest daughter.

“It’s really neat to think that the hospital is still here and that we still live in Greensboro and that we love Greensboro, and that we get to have that kind of unique experience,” she said.

Jesse added, “To be able to share something like that with a new generation is really neat.”
