We offer a variety of treatment and service options designed specifically for your wound care needs. Our Wound Care Clinic is available to see all patients who have lower leg wounds. You do not have to have an orthopedic problem. Our specialists provide internationally leading innovations in wound care.
Treatment Options and Capabilities
VAC Therapy
We offer Vacuum-Assisted Closure (VAC) therapy, which uses negative pressure to promote faster healing of wounds. Benefits include reduced infection risk, improved blood flow, accelerated wound healing, and decreased swelling.
Advanced Biologic Tissue Graft
We utilize biologic tissue grafts in the clinic. The anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties of the biologic tissue graft support improved healing, decreased risk of contracture with regeneration of soft and supple skin. We have participated in several national studies to evaluate the benefits of biologic tissue grafts.
Venous Stasis and Lymphedema Management
We offer multilayer compressive dressings, compression garments, and can assist with establishing home use of lymphedema pumps. Compression therapy leads to increased healing of wounds and give long term management options for venous stasis and movement of lymphatic fluid.
Offloading Therapy
We offer various techniques to offload pressure from ulcers on the foot. This includes both over the counter or custom orthotics as well as in office customized products.
Clinical Studies
Active Clinical Studies
- The Thor study is a randomized controlled clinical trial evaluating the efficacy of fish skin graft and standard of care dressings versus standard of care dressings alone in the treatment of venous leg ulcers. We are currently enrolling for this trial, and potential candidates would be 18 or older and have a leg ulcer. The office visits are at no charge to the patient and those that meet inclusion criteria will receive $50 per completed visit up to 14-weeks or wound closure.
- ISACOD Registry: This registry’s objective is to collect real-world safety and performance data on fish skin graft devices. Prospective observational registry of the safety and effectiveness of acellular fish skin graft in the treatment of cutaneous wounds: Study goal is to prospectively collect data from enrollment, treatment, and follow up patients who have undergone procedures or treatments on wounds treated with fish skin graft.
Completed Clinical Studies
- Prospective follow up on registry of cleared acellular fish skin grafts in soft tissue reinforcement: Overall objective was to collect quality and safety data to assess the long-term outcomes of fish skin graft in surgical procedures to reinforce soft tissue and prevent surgical complications.
